Daniel Ross
Daniel Ross, Associate Principal Trumpet, is in his 29th season with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
A native of Indianapolis, he began playing at age 10 and received his Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance from Indiana University in 1983. As an IU student, Ross was awarded a Performer’s Certificate on the Thomas Beversdorf Memorial Scholarship and the Della J. Evans Distinguished Scholarship. He was the 1982 winner of the Brass Division of the Collegiate Artists Competition and the International Trumpet Guild Mock Orchestra Competition. Ross has soloed with the Indianapolis Symphony, Carmel Symphony and other orchestras and has been a substitute musician with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. He is also Director of Community Development for Arts United. Ross is married to Anna Ross, a member of The Phil’s viola section, and has two sons, Jonathan and Nate.
